§ 26-40. Decoration and removal.

  • (a)

    All decorations placed on graves, including those in conjunction with annual Memorial Day (Decoration Day) or other holiday observances will be removed within ten days in order to permit unobstructed maintenance of the grounds.

    (b)

    All flower decorations should be placed on headstones either in permanent vases or as saddles on top of stones. Flowers placed on the ground may be removed at the next maintenance cycle. Glass containers shall not be used.

    (c)

    All real and artificial flowers, pots, wreaths and other decorations which, in the judgment of the sexton, impede cemetery maintenance, or have become frayed, withered or affected by weather, or otherwise disturb the order of the cemetery, may be removed for disposal by the staff.
