§ 2-42. Special meeting.

  • (a)

    A special meeting of the board of directors of the city may be called either by the mayor or by a majority of the membership of the board of directors. It shall be the duty of each of the directors or the mayor to notify the city administrator or his designee of the time of such special meeting. The city administrator or his designee must be notified at such a time in advance of the time scheduled for the special meeting in order to allow such city administrator or his designee to notify the news media and other board members at least two hours prior to the proposed time of such meeting.

    (b)

    It shall be the duty of the city administrator or his designee upon receiving notification by either the mayor or directors to immediately notify members of the local news media and the other directors currently serving on the board of directors.

    (c)

    The notice to be given to the city administrator or his designee by either the mayor or directors, and the notice shall be given to the news media and the other directors by the city administrator or his designee shall contain an exact statement of the matters to be considered at such special board meeting. Matters other than those mentioned in these notices shall not be discussed or considered at the special board meetings.
