§ 30-9. Additional fine for misdemeanors and traffic violations.

(a)

In addition to any fine imposed by the court pursuant to section 1-7 of this Code or otherwise, and in addition to any fees otherwise imposed by law, a $5.00 fine is hereby levied upon, and shall be collected from, each defendant who pleads guilty or nolo contendere to, or is found guilty of, or forfeits bond upon charge of, any misdemeanor or traffic violation in the Siloam Springs District Court.

(b)

Funds generated by the $5.00 fine shall be used exclusively to defray city's costs of incarcerating prisoners.
