§ 87-30. Procedure for dedications.

(a)

Acceptance of dedications. Upon satisfaction of the board of directors that such improvements have been made or that the applicant has satisfactorily complied with section 87-19(a) of this chapter (requirements for plat approval) the board of directors may accept the dedication of streets and any other public ways or property.

(1)

After approval by the water and wastewater director and city engineer, or engineering consultant, the city will accept the water and/or sewer lines as a part of the municipal water and sewer systems and will service and maintain them as a part of said systems.

(2)

No dedication of streets shall by itself be accepted by the city unless shown on a final subdivision plat. If the purpose of opening the street is to make the affected land available for sale as a development or subdivision, the street may not be accepted until accompanied by the required plat.
